Waves / Tides of Silence
In this work, we see a horizon that draws us towards the silence of the unknown, where the restless waves seem stilled, as if preparing for something yet to come. The interplay of blue and green reflects the eternal dance of attraction and repulsion—the sea that breathes, while the calm sky above appears indifferent. Bobkin here presents not just the sea, but a mental boundary, the place where thoughts end and silence begins. The work evokes a sense of desolation, as is often the case with Bobkin: an invitation to look beyond the horizon, to explore the deeper mystery lurking beneath the surface. The mystery remains unresolved, but therein lies its strength—it suggests without giving everything away and leaves us yearning for what we cannot see.
